For several decades, the Grand-Case flying club has contributed to the growth of general aviation in Saint Martin. Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts have discovered the joy of flying here, completed their first solo flights, and shared a common passion for the sky and freedom. A true school of life, the flying club has always been a place of mentorship, learning, and camaraderie.

An iconic figure in French West Indies aviation, Yves Blanchet dedicated a large part of his life to sharing his passion for flying. His professionalism, rigor, and above all, his human warmth left a lasting mark on generations of pilots.
Through the name “Les Ailes de Grand-Case - Aéroclub Yves Blanchet”, the association strives to perpetuate his legacy and honor the enduring impression he left on Saint Martin's aviation history.
After several years of dormancy, the flying club came back to life thanks to a team of dedicated volunteers and enthusiasts determined to revitalize this historic institution.
Driven by president William Demy and chief flight instructor Marc Moreau, the association set an ambitious goal: to pass on the passion for aviation to new generations and restore the flying club's place within the local Saint Martin community.

“We wanted to bring this institution back to life because the passion for flying remained fully intact on the island. For us, it is a way to honor the memory of my flight instructor, a man whose patience and teaching skills were truly exceptional.”
— William Demy
Today, Les Ailes de Grand-Case continues to grow with a clear ambition: to introduce aviation to as many people as possible, train the pilots of tomorrow, and promote aviation culture throughout the Caribbean.
Every discovery flight, introductory lesson, and training course helps keep alive the spirit of sharing, excellence, and passion that has driven the flying club since day one.
